Site of river oil spill found but source is still unknown

WATERBURY?-- The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection has traced the source of oil leaking into the Naugatuck River to a crack in an embankment on Jackson Street.

About 20 gallons of oil leached through the embankment wall into the river on Friday. Firefighters responded to the spill at about 4 p.m. and called the DEEP's emergency response team.
